Over the past 9 months, I’ve been fortunate enough to take a break from my career to explore what life can be. I had always wanted to be present and … hit the road without a plan, travel to Africa, figure out how to take a good picture, volunteer my time, not set my alarm, have time for friends and family, and to just have the time to find that person I was before I got all caught up in … just an expected life?
I started out by taking a 5-week, U.S. road trip. I had no real experience camping and no set plans, just some places I thought I would like to see before returning back to Colorado for commitments (and if I didn’t have them, I may still be out there driving.) It was absolutely amazing – and I didn’t think it could get any better.
I then spent some time at home trying to figure out how to adjust back into a normal life, visited with friends and family, went on an amazing wellness retreat in Canada, and then was off for 3 weeks to Uganda to finally meet my now dear friend, David Mporampora, for what would be another life changing experience.
I was introduced to David, the founder of ChristAid International (CAI) about a year ago, and after many emails and meetings with members of the board, I decided I would donate a website and logo refresh. Though I’m not a Christian, a clear part of their mission, their work to help educate and improve the lives of poor children along with assistance for old women is aligned with what I consider part of my new mission – to help others find their inner strength to obtain success and the life they seek.
I had so many ideas of how I could help and couldn’t wait to get started. So, I brought some crafts home the CAI grandmas made with the intention of raising money to send back cash and medication they can’t get in Uganda.
I’ve learned so much about the world and myself by the dozens of amazing people I’ve had the pleasure to meet over the past 9-months. I now needed:
- a way to spread the word about the crafts by the grandmas
- to keep downsizing by selling stuff I’ve accumulated and don’t need
- to find a way to make money to pay my bills
So, I thought I would create a website to support my projects, and here you have it.

You never cease to amaze me Holly… I’ve always admired your strength and determination to follow your heart, but reading this really exemplifies your true strength of compassion and good will. While many of us struggle to allow ourselves the ability to live a life of peace, you’ve found yours wrapped in the grace of giving and love. You’re very special and I’m so thankful to have had you as a small part of my life. You’ll always have my heart and admiration.
